Pet Parade  

If you're a pet lover, especially a dog or cat lover, get ready for a PET-ACULAR event as hundreds of costumed four legged friends and their owners parade on Procter Street .  You’re sure to love this Mardi Gras parade showcasing dogs and cats in adorable costumes.  Lot ’s of tail-wagging, high stepping, dress to impress cuties.  Come join us and participate in the fun.  
No fee is charged but owners must register participants.  Registration includes entry for one dog/cat and one human escort and a special treat. You pre-register in advance at the Mardi Gras Store, 3830 Hwy 365, Port Arthur or just show up a little early at the festival grounds and sign up for the fun.  Only animals who are registered will be allowed to be part of the parade.  See Pet Parade application on website.
Parade assembly will begin promptly at 11:15 at Mobile Avenue . 
Pet Parade will begin at 12:00 Noon and stroll five blocks through the Mardi Gras grounds exiting at the Austin Avenue West gate. All handlers must have a ticket for re-entry into the Mardi Gras grounds.  Pets are prohibited from re-entry.

Animal participants are subject to the approval of Mardi Gras Southeast Texas, Inc. and/or The City of Port Arthur Department of Animal Control based on appropriateness, temperament and health.  All entries must register and have proof of current vaccinations.  All entries must be on a leash and when you're dressing your pooch or kitty make sure your furred friend's outfit includes a current ID tag and collar.  Carnival season is a time for merriment but keeping our pets safe during the festivities is worth its weight in gold, purple and green “laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler” !
